Amity is situated within the Willamette Valley American Viticulture Area, established in 1983. There are over 700 wineries within a few hours of Amity, making it a perfect home base for exploring Oregon's world renowned wine country. Within this AVA are 11 sub-regions, including three that call Amity home.
Eola-Amity Hills AVA - over 30 wineries featuring award-winning Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sparkling Wines. This AVA was created in 2006 and encompasses over 100 vineyards across 3,000 planted acres. The unique soil types allow for excellent drainage, and its location provides climate well-suited for cool weather grapes.
McMinnville AVA - Over 600 planted acres feature mostly Pinot Noir grapes that thrive in the uplifted marine sedimentary loams and silts. The shallow soil, location in a rain shadow, and coastal winds combine to produce concentrated, fruit-forward wines.
Van Duzer Corridor AVA - a gap in the coast range creates a natural funnel for marine air to create a distinct microclimate. Grapes ripen more slowly, allowing enhanced tannins, high acidity, and bright fruit notes.
Amity is also home to New Brighton Distillery, crafting small batch whiskey in a true farm-to-flask manner using locally sourced, sustainable ingredients.
